  • Don’t forget! The Library Holiday Tea is fast approaching. It’ll be on December 1st. Help with set-up and tea service would be appreciated.
  • October’s sales of books and merchandise from the lobby store was $1,000!
  • The new sign for the Friends Corner at the library, created by Todd Spalti, was installed. Thanks, Todd.
  • Susan Kosiur was welcomed as the new Treasurer for FOIL.
  • FOIL will be a sponsor for the Children’s Christmas Craft Market, which will be held this year at the library on December 8th.
  • The Board is always looking for members willing to volunteer a few of their hours to help with event publicity, book sorting, event set-up and other tasks.

The Board of Directors meets on the second Tuesday of each month from 3:30-5:00PM at the Library in Maria’s Room.

The Friends of the Orcas Island Library has merchandise for sale*. Merchandise is available for purchase in the Library.

Join Friends

Purpose

  • To establish and maintain an association of persons interested in a public library on Orcas Island;
  • To focus public attention on and develop public support for the Library;
  • To encourage and receive gifts, endowments, and bequests for the Library;
  • To conduct fund raising activities for the benefit of the Library and to manage funds at its disposal for the benefit of the Library;
  • To support and cooperate with the library in developing services for the community; and
  • To stimulate more extensive use of the Library's resources.
